1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the operators of Calcive ("Calcive," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the website located at calcive.com and all associated subdomains, content, tools, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By using this Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date accordingly.

2. Description of Service

Calcive provides a free, browser-based suite of financial calculators and computational tools. These tools are designed to help users perform financial computations including but not limited to mortgage calculations, compound interest projections, retirement planning estimates, loan amortization schedules, currency conversions, and investment return estimates.

All calculations are performed locally within your web browser using JavaScript. Calcive does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect or store your calculation inputs or results. The Service is provided free of charge and may be supported by advertising in the future.

We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service. We may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons without prior notice.

3. Not Financial Advice

The tools, calculators, content, and results provided by Calcive are for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on Calcive constitutes financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, tax advice, or any other form of professional advice.

All calculation results are estimates based on the inputs you provide and mathematical formulas. These estimates may differ substantially from actual outcomes due to real-world factors including but not limited to: interest rate fluctuations, tax law changes, inflation, market volatility, individual financial circumstances, and other variables outside the scope of our calculators.

You should always consult a qualified and licensed financial professional, tax advisor, or legal counsel before making any financial decisions. Never make significant financial commitments — including taking out loans, making investments, or planning retirement — based solely on calculator results from any online tool, including Calcive.

4. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial informational purposes.

You may:

• Use Calcive's calculators for personal financial planning and learning
• Share links to Calcive's tools with others
• Access Calcive from multiple devices and browsers
• Use Calcive in a professional context for informational estimates (subject to the disclaimer in Section 3)

You agree to use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws, and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or interfere with the operation of the Service.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion or feature of the Service, or any other system or network connected to the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, scrape, or collect data from the Service at scale without our prior written consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive source code from the Service beyond what is permitted by applicable law
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code that may damage or interfere with the Service
• Use the Service to transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
• Frame, mirror, or embed the Service on another website without our prior written permission
• Misrepresent the source or accuracy of calculator results, or present Calcive's results as professional financial advice
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the servers and networks connected to it
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any network connected to it

Violation of these prohibitions may result in termination of your access to the Service and may subject you to civil or criminal liability.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, functionality, design, layout, source code, algorithms, and all associated intellectual property are and will remain the exclusive property of Calcive and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The Calcive name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks or trade dress of Calcive. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

6.2 Your Use of Content

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any portion of the Service without our prior written consent. Limited fair use for non-commercial educational purposes is permitted where consistent with applicable law.

6.3 Feedback

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and incorporate such Feedback into the Service without obligation or compensation to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) the results obtained from use of the Service will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for your purposes; (c) the quality of any information, data, or other material obtained through the Service will meet your expectations; or (d) any errors in the Service will be corrected.

Calculator results are mathematical estimates based on user inputs. Actual financial outcomes depend on many factors beyond the scope of our tools. We make no representation that our calculation methodologies reflect the exact practices of any financial institution, government agency, or tax authority.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CALCIVE AND ITS OPERATORS, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS, AND DIRECTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

In no event shall Calcive's total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100), or the amount you paid to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (whichever is greater). Since Calcive is a free service, in most cases this means our liability is limited to USD $100.

This limitation of liability reflects a reasonable allocation of risk between the parties. Calcive would not be able to provide the Service for free if we assumed greater liability for how the Service is used.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Calcive and its operators, licensors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the Service in violation of applicable law; (c) your negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud; or (d) any claim that content you contributed to the Service infringes a third party's rights.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them. Accessing linked third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.

Our use of third-party services (such as Cloudflare for hosting and future Google AdSense for advertising) is disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

11. Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertisements to support its free operation. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or legality of advertisements displayed on the Service. Calcive may receive compensation from advertisers when you interact with advertisements. Our editorial content and calculator methodologies are independent of advertising relationships.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 13 — shall survive any termination of your access to the Service.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation for 30 days before either party may initiate legal proceedings.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, mandatory consumer protection provisions in your country of residence may apply and cannot be excluded by this agreement.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The failure of Calcive to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Calcive regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations relating to the subject matter herein.
