Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 7, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains clearly what information Calcive collects, how it is used, and the rights you have over your data. We have designed Calcive with a privacy-first architecture — all calculator computations happen entirely in your browser, and we never transmit your financial inputs to any server.
1. Who We Are
Calcive (calcive.com) is a free online calculator platform providing financial tools for personal use. When this Privacy Policy refers to "we," "us," or "our," it refers to the operators of Calcive.
If you have questions about this policy or your personal data, you can reach us at contact@calcive.com.
2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Calculation Data — We Do Not Collect It
All calculations you perform on Calcive — including mortgage figures, investment amounts, retirement projections, debt totals, or any other financial inputs — are processed exclusively within your browser using JavaScript. No calculation data is ever transmitted to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with any third party. We have no technical ability to see the numbers you enter into our calculators.
2.2 Anonymized Analytics
To understand how visitors use Calcive and to improve the service, we may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data. This includes:
- Pages visited and approximate session duration
- Browser type and operating system (aggregated)
- Approximate geographic region (country-level only, never precise location)
- Referring website or search engine
- Device category (desktop, tablet, mobile)
This data does not identify you personally. It cannot be used to reconstruct your calculations or browsing behavior. We do not build individual user profiles or link analytics data to any personal identifier.
2.3 Contact Information
If you voluntarily contact us via email, we retain your email address and the content of your message solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to marketing lists, share your contact details with third parties, or retain correspondence beyond what is reasonably necessary.
2.4 Technical Log Data
Our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) may automatically log standard technical data including IP addresses, HTTP request headers, and error logs. This data is retained for security and operational purposes only, is never used for user profiling, and is handled in accordance with Cloudflare's own privacy practices. IP addresses in server logs are typically anonymized or deleted after a short retention period.
3. Cookies and Tracking
3.1 Cookie Consent
Calcive uses a cookie consent banner powered by vanilla-cookieconsent. On your first visit, you will be asked to accept or decline specific cookie categories. Your preference is stored in a small cookie on your device so we do not ask repeatedly.
3.2 Cookie Categories
We use the following cookie categories:
3.3 Managing Cookies
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer, or by clearing cookies via your browser settings. Revoking consent for analytics or marketing cookies will stop those cookies from being set on future page loads. Note that clearing all cookies will also remove your preference record, and you will see the consent banner again on your next visit.
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Cloudflare
Calcive is hosted on and served through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare provides CDN, DDoS protection, and web analytics services. When you access Calcive, your request passes through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, and request metadata to provide these services. Cloudflare's data processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a cookie-free, privacy-preserving analytics product that does not track individuals across websites and does not use fingerprinting.
4.2 Google AdSense (Future)
We intend to display advertisements through Google AdSense in the future. When enabled, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Calcive or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Calcive and/or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by opting out at aboutads.info. Until AdSense is activated, no Google advertising cookies are set. We will update this policy and our cookie consent banner when advertising is enabled.
4.3 Google Fonts
Calcive loads web fonts from Google Fonts. When fonts are loaded, Google may receive a request from your browser that includes your IP address. We use rel="preload" with deferred loading and a <noscript> fallback to minimize unnecessary requests. You can review Google's font privacy practices on the Google Fonts FAQ.
4.4 No Other Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your data with any other third parties beyond those described above. We do not integrate social media tracking pixels, third-party CRM tools, or behavioral advertising platforms beyond what is disclosed here.
5. How We Use Data
The limited data we collect is used only for:
- Operating and improving Calcive's performance and content
- Understanding which calculators and features are most useful
- Detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and security threats
- Responding to user inquiries
- Complying with legal obligations
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not sell personal data. We do not combine anonymized analytics data with any personally identifying information.
6. Data Retention
Anonymized analytics data is retained in aggregated form for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or further aggregated. Technical log data (including any temporarily processed IP addresses) is retained for no longer than 30 days unless required longer for security incident investigation. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the inquiry, typically no longer than 12 months.
Since we do not collect personal calculation data, there is no such data to retain or delete.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding any personal data we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
7.1 Right of Access
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Because we collect very minimal personal data (no calculation data, only anonymized analytics), in most cases we hold no data that is attributable to you personally. For any email correspondence, you may request access to data we hold on you.
7.2 Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")
You have the right to request deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to certain legal exceptions. If you have contacted us by email and wish us to delete those records, contact us at contact@calcive.com and we will comply within 30 days.
7.3 Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller. For contact inquiries, we can provide a copy of your correspondence in plain text format upon request.
7.4 Right to Object
You have the right to object to processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. We do not currently conduct direct marketing, so this right is not typically exercised with us. You may object to analytics processing by declining the analytics cookie category in our cookie consent panel.
7.5 Right to Rectification
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data we hold about you. If you believe any data we hold about you is incorrect, please contact us at contact@calcive.com.
7.6 Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on consent (such as analytics cookies), you may withdraw that consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
7.7 Right to Lodge a Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe our processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law. A list of EU supervisory authorities is available at the European Data Protection Board's website.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific privacy rights. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them.
8.1 Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, the categories of third parties we share it with, and the specific pieces of personal information collected. You may submit a verifiable consumer request to exercise this right at contact@calcive.com.
8.2 Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. We will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information upon a verified request, unless an exception applies (such as a legal obligation to retain records).
8.3 Right to Opt-Out of Sale
California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" of their personal information. We do not sell personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties for monetary consideration. Future advertising through Google AdSense involves interest-based advertising, which under California law may be considered a "sharing" of data for cross-context behavioral advertising. When AdSense is activated, we will update this section with opt-out instructions.
8.4 Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you access to the service, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
8.5 How to Submit a Request
To exercise your CCPA rights, submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing contact@calcive.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days. We may extend this period once for an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, in which case we will provide prior notice.
9. Children's Privacy
Calcive is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@calcive.com.
10. International Transfers
Calcive is operated globally through Cloudflare's network. Data may be processed in data centers located in various countries. For users in the EEA or UK, any transfer of personal data to countries outside the EEA is carried out in compliance with applicable data protection law, including through standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards where required.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process. These include TLS/HTTPS encryption for all web traffic, Cloudflare's DDoS protection and WAF, and access controls. Since we do not collect or store your financial calculation data, there is no risk of that data being exposed in a security incident on our side.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service offerings. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Calcive after policy changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us:
- Email: contact@calcive.com
- General contact: Contact page
We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 5 business days and will address GDPR/CCPA requests within the legally required timeframes.
